Remembrance

Reg Shore

Ron - It is with deep regret, I have to relay the sad news that Reg Shore died yesterday, 27/11/2002 after a short illness.

He was in the Norwich hospital after collapsing at home 10 days ago. He was suffering from heart and kidney failure in the end.

For those who didn't know Reg, he was on the ill-fated Lisbon Maru and spent time at Kobe in Japan.

When I visited him earlier in the year at Cromer, he kept, my wife and I, entertained for about four hours reliving his time as a pow. In the nicest sense, he had a wicked sense of humour and was full of humorous stories.

He had his name in a book, which he was very proud of, but his name was spelt Shaw. In his copy he had crossed out Shaw and added Shore.

A character who will be missed.

      Val
