Message from the President of Sandakan Municipal Council
 15 August is chosen as Sandakan Day because the last prisoner of the war was beheaded on the day. We commemorate those who served and sacrificed their lives for us. They died for us so that we can live in peace.
I would like to thank all those who participate in this yearly event especially our friends from Australia, New Zealand, Britain and the rest of the world.
Thank you for your concern and contributions to make this Sandakan Day Memorial Service a success.
