Television Programs

      David Langton - Hi Everyone
I know it's a long way away, but thought you would want to know that "The
      History Channel" is broadcasting :-
19.00 14 Dec. SURVIVING HELL: THE IMPREGNABLE FORTRESS

      08.00 15 Dec DITTO

The "Impregnable Fortress" being Singapore - or so Churchill et al thought!

Sean Bodie - My name is Sean Bodie. I am writing a TV special for a TV production company called Great North Productions which is part of the Alliance Atlantis group. I am a student of history and a fluent speaker of
      Japanese.

We are currently planning a TV documentary to be aired in Canada, the UK and the USA, on the plight of POWs captured by the Japanese in WWII. We need to find a former British POW who would be willing to be interviewed and who would be willing to travel back to Japan or wherever they were imprisoned (at our expense of course). We are also interested in the actions being taken in courts and in government to address the claims of these vets against Japan and Japanese corporations.

Any help you could offer would be valuable.

      Regards,
      Sean Bodie

      Denis - >Sean
I was a civilian in Shanghai, Yu Yuen Rd and Yangtsepoo camps. Am I of interest to you?

Sean - >Dennis, Thank you for responding. Your story is of great interest to me personally but does not fit the perameters of this particular show. I should have been more explicit. I would be interested in reading anything that you may have written about your experiences.

Please forgive me for not being able to tell your story this time around.

      Tony - >Ron,

I've been told that BBC2 will show a programme about Christmas during the war on December 24th at about 20:00. I don't know much about it, as I just helped them find one or two Hong Kong veterans to interview, but it may well be worth a look.

      Ron - >Tony

The program will be worth looking out for.
If there are any stories or bits and pieces about Christmas in the Camps, could you point them my way please. Maybe it's not very factual, but just wanted to try to get a feeling of what it was like.
